Balkan Young Talents is a dynamic initiative jointly developed by the Beldocs International Documentary Film Festival and the Al Jazeera Balkans Documentary Film Festival (AJB DOC).

Aspiring filmmakers from the Western Balkans will participate in two intensive three-day workshops—one in Belgrade, Serbia, during Beldocs Industry Days, and the other in Sarajevo during the Al Jazeera Documentary Industry Days at AJB DOC.

The workshop in Belgrade is designed to spark creativity, promote knowledge exchange, and foster professional networking. Through lectures, panel discussions, and one-on-one mentoring sessions, participants will gain foundational theoretical and practical skills to create a 10-minute documentary.

Over the summer, guided by experienced mentors, participants will develop their short documentaries. Rough cuts will be reviewed by an editing mentor during the AJB DOC workshop in Sarajevo. The completed films will be showcased as part of the Beldocs program the following year.
