Festival Trailer by Jelena Maksimović for the 18th Beldocs

In anticipation of the 18th edition of the festival, we present this year’s official trailer, created by director and editor Jelena Maksimović.

“It was incredibly exciting for me to take part in creating the Beldocs video this year, as we find ourselves in an extremely important political moment.
My idea was to depict a frozen moment of awaiting change, in which the past echoes through distorted reverberations.
A wonderful creative team helped me bring this to life, both conceptually and creatively.
I’d like to thank all the participants in the video, who shaped the figures of the present moment with their bodies: Mina Petrović, Jana Vlajković, Andrej Maksimović, Lenka Trajković, Stefan Dukovski, Anja Marković, Julija Lazar, Katarina Marković, Nikola Gregović, Sara Ećimović, Dejan Stevanović, Filip Perić, Vladimir Bjeličić, Jelena Angelovski, Vladimir Živković — and the legend, Vuško the dog,” said the author.

Jelena Maksimović holds a degree in film editing from the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Belgrade. Since 2015, she has been teaching at the Faculty of Media and Communications, in the Department of Digital Arts.
As an editor, she worked on films such as The Load (2018), You Have the Night (2018), Celts (2021), and Landscapes of Resistance (2021), which were screened at major festivals including Cannes, Venice, Berlinale, Locarno, Rotterdam, Toronto and others.

She has directed two short and two feature-length films, Taurunum Boy (2018) and Homelands (2020), both premiering at Cinéma du Réel and FID Marseille. Her films have received multiple awards, including at Beldocs. In addition to her film work, she is also active in the fields of video art, spatial installations, and theater productions.
